Question: Has anyone created a Phonics Packets Tracking Form?

Hello and Welcome!, Questions?, Ideas to share No Comments »

Have you created a Phonics Packets Tracking Form?

A Coordinator asked me if there was a form to track the Phonics Lessons, since the number of the decodable book does not match the number of the Lesson Packet. I am attaching an example of what a Phonics Packets Tracking Form could look like. If you have created one would you please email it to me to share with everyone?

Thank you!

Debby

Student Progress(?)

Hello and Welcome!, Questions? 1 Comment »

I was wondering if someone could help me.

In the meeting this fall we were shown a power point from BGSU that coordinators could use to present to  administration to show student progress. It was more or less a template and we would input our information. At the time is wasn’t quite finished. I was looking on the blog to see if it had been posted. I just don’t want to miss it if it’s on here somewhere. It looked really good!

If someone could tell me where to find it, or if it’s not available, I would really appreciate it. I’m working on our winter benchmark and wanted some more ideas.

Thanks for your help!

In response to Beth’s posting: I am finding that it takes a few days or a week or two to get a real “feel” for a student’s level. We were given a sheet that gives us suggestions for where to start in Reading-Tutors after doing the DIBELS. What I’ve found is that in most cases, at least here at my school, those levels are on the low side, so I tend to have to skip a level or two the next week or so. In the meantime, students are zipping through their folder work in a day or so (those at the lower levels aa-E, before they do the Fluency Passages). In no way does a folder last 4 sessions for my students. I have found that some can last 2 days, but rarely 3 or more. I am hoping that once we find a more correct level for each student, and get into fluency passages, the folder will last the whole four days, or at least 3 days.

Does anyone else find the same thing? Or, is it because I am new to Reading-Tutors and am not doing things correctly? Just hoping someone has some ideas for me.

I’m slowly getting into a “system” for doing folders a bit faster, but does anyone have any great hints for making it go even faster? I’m not doing too bad, but at another program, the girl has 53 folders to do and it’s taking up her weekends!!!!!

Also - does anyone know what a “ping” is? This is the first I’ve actually used the BLOG, and it asks if I want to “Allow Comments” or “Allow Pings”. Huh?????
